NEW 28 V input Mini series (9-36 V Input Range)
[ -- ]
What is it? Vicor is expanding its already broad line of products to include the V28 Mini to complete the V28 family of wide input DC-DC converters. The new 28 V input Mini has a wide 9 to 36 V input voltage range in order to meet applications requiring either 12 V or 24 V operation. Often times this type of input voltage is desired for vehicle applications which are powered by batteries and sometimes utilize dual 12 V and 24 V systems.
What are the main features and benefits?
· 28 Vdc input (9-36 Vdc range, the module is derated to 75% of maximum power for input voltages between 9 and 10 V)
· Wide input range for 12 V or 24 V applications
· 3.3 to 48 Vdc output
· Four different product grades - operating temperatures as low as -55° C
· RoHS and non-RoHS models
· Wide trim range, 10% to 110% of nominal output voltage
What models are available?
Initially, there will be eight base models of the wide input 28 V Mini module available with nominal output voltages ranging from 3.3 to 48 Vdc and a maximum power of 150 W. These models are available with four different environmental grades (C, T, H, and M) and standard packaging options.
· 3.3 V/75 W (projected release in late July)
· 5 V/75 W
· 12 V/125 W (projected release in late July)
· 15 V/150 W
· 24 V/150 W
· 28 V/150 W
· 36 V/150 W
· 48 V/150 W (projected release in late July)
The input code prefix for the wide input 28 V Mini module is 'V28B' Part number example: V28B24C150BL (28 Vin, 24 Vout, C-grade, 150 W, long pin, slotted baseplate)
Where is it used?
These products are targeted for applications requiring either 12 V or 24 V applications which are typical for battery systems in vehicles. They can also be used in a variety of vehicle or man-portable applications including lighting, communications, portable test equipment, displays and control systems.
