New range of configurable power supplies for rugged and military applications
[ en ]
Westcor, a division of Vicor that designs and builds configurable power supplies using Vicor DC-DC converters and ancillary components, has announced a new product range for rugged and military environments. Power outputs range from 500 W to 2400 W while giving users the power flexibility inherent in all Vicor products. The range includes the PFC Micro MI, PFC MicroS MI, FlatPAC-EN MI, PFC Mini MI and PFC MegaPAC MI. The first four comprise an AC front end and, variously, accommodation for 3 to 6 Vicor VI-200, VI-J00, Maxi, Mini or Micro DC-DC converters. Users can design, verify and order their ideal configuration online, in realtime, using Westcor’s VSPOC online configurator. The PFC MegaPAC MI is field configurable for up to 32 outputs, accepting slide-in modules.
All products have a full complement of MIL and EN certification for use in rugged and military environments. All meet MIL-STD 810 for vibration and shock, as well as MIL-STD-704F and MIL-STD-1399C for transients and overvoltage., EN61000 and EN55022 certification equips them in terms of EMC compatibility for integration with other rugged or military electronic components and systems. Specific MIL-STD-461E compliance will be configuration dependent.
Enhanced environmental performance is facilitated by -20 ˚C to +50 ˚C operation at full power, with a -40 ˚C option, and a conformal coating option for protection against moisture, dust and chemicals. All models except FlatPAC-EN MI accept 85-264 Vac universal 47-500 Hz inputs as well as 100-380 Vdc. The products will be offered in black as a standard with other colours available on request.
